Uplook - October 21, 2023
Dear Seattle Saints,
We rejoiced this week to celebrate on Wednesday with Bro. Yoshiki and Sis. Rei Ohno who were in Seattle for their honeymoon. You will remember that Bro. Yoshiki spent nearly a year in Seattle back in 2019-2020 learning English and more about how our church operates. God has since given Yoshiki the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and also called him into the ministry. He was ordained as the pastor of our Kawasaki Japan church in July at Portland camp meeting. Our prayer over the past couple of years was that God would empower him to take up the mantle of pastoral leadership and also that God would provide a godly Christian wife. God has graciously answered both of those prayers for which we rejoice. Please continue to pray for Bro. Yoshiki & Sis Rei as they faithfully serve God’s people in Japan and pray for the work of God in Japan. It is not an easy place to minister for a variety of reasons but we are confident the Holy Spirit can open hearts and bring many to know Jesus.
We also rejoice in how the Lord is working in our own congregation. Our children are working already on a Sunday School Christmas program and our Choir is preparing a special morning of Christmas music. Our ladies just met for a sweet time of fellowship (and donuts) encouraging one another in the Lord. We are also rejoicing that several in our fellowship have been saved and desire to follow the Lord in Water Baptism. We have scheduled a Water Baptismal service for next Sunday evening (10/29). Please let me know if you or someone in your family desires to be baptized. Sunday after Sunday the Lord is bringing hungry souls to our small church to hear the good news of the Gospel. Some are from the community, some are in Seattle visiting family, some have come for schooling or work. But whatever the case, we are thrilled they are in service hearing the truth. May we keep our hearts and arms of love open as God brings people our way.
Housekeeping notes:
Choir Practice – Reminder to all in the music that there is choir practice tomorrow at 3:45pm.
Blessings to you all,
