Uplook - April 26, 2025

Happy Saturday,

It seems amazing that we are nearly through the first third of 2025 and we’re certainly enjoying the longer days and at least a bit less precipitation.   Most of all we continue to rejoice in the message of last Sunday that Jesus is risen.  It is upon this crucial fact that all of Christianity is founded.   Sometimes we lose sight of that fact in the busy schedule that many in the city must keep.  By God’s grace, may we take time to “tarry” as Jesus instructed those early disciples soon after His resurrection when He ascended.   Spending time with other believers in worship and prayer can help us to refocus and recalibrate our hearts, minds, and lives in the midst of all the distractions and challenges which come our way.   There are those in various parts of the world even today who long for the great privilege we have to gather together, bringing our families to worship and fellowship but are under great persecution even to the point of martyrdom.   Along with appreciating our great privileges we must also pray for God’s protection and provision for those facing such tribulation.

I want to remind you all that we will be blessed to have Sis. Marjorie Reid and her husband Bro. Edwin with us next weekend (May 4).   She is the pastor of our church in Langley, BC Canada about two hours north.   It is our plan to have a potluck dinner next Sunday so you will all have a chance to get to know them better (and enjoy the fellowship of one another).   Check the bulletin board at church for the signup list of what you can bring and/or check with Sis. Lori for details.

Also, I want to take this opportunity to thank our musicians who presented wonderful music last week for Easter.  Once again, we can take for granted the beautiful music both instrumental and vocal which we are privileged to enjoy and which takes us into the presence of the Lord week after week.  God bless you all for your willing hearts and sweet spirits.

God bless you all,

BB
