Weekly Uplook - June 11
We have been blessed to spend a few days with our son and his family. Our oldest granddaughter graduated from 8th grade and we were very proud of her. I’ve been thinking about celebrations and milestones which recognize important events.
In just a week or so we will celebrate Father’s Day and in particular the importance of father’s with integrity, love, and faithfulness to their families and future generations. I mentioned to one of the fathers at the after graduation celebration (he had mentioned that he and his wife had two foster children in addition to their own birth children) that we had raised three children who were all happily married and raising our grandchildren. We had just met but he gave me a hearty fist bump proclaiming how important he thought this was. Lori and I often have a similar response from people when I mention we have been married for 45 years. Of course this has much to do with our commitment to the Lord as well as Lori’s patience with me:).
In the past couple of years many celebrations have been forgone for health safety and some milestones have been minimized. This has been necessary in many cases but may we all be thankful that opportunities are once again opening for us to celebrate the things which are important in life. And may we give the Lord glory for all of the milestones along the way.
Blessings,
BB
