Greetings from the Windy City of Chicago,

Lori and I are privileged to be here with the saints from our church in Worth, IL which is a suburb of Chicago.  We began the weekend of services with a text from Hebrews

"By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. 9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: 10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God."  Hebrews 11:8–10

I tried to share with the saints here that it matters less where we are from than where we are going to.  I also reminded them of what I called the 3 B's   (Someone has said B3). In Genesis 12:1-3 Abraham was promised by God that he would 1) be blessed, 2) be a blessing, and 3) inherit a blessing.   We also are called like Abraham...to be blessed, to be a blessing and to inherit a blessing.   May the Lord help each of us to answer that call.  

I wanted to let you all know of the passing of our beloved brother in the Lord, Donnie Ferguson last Wednesday.  I was there with him in the hospital and now he is with Jesus.  The family is planning a memorial service for sometime after Thanksgiving.
