Uplook - August 3, 2025

Greetings from Seoul, South Korea,

It is early Sunday morning here and we will soon be in the final services of the 2025 Korean camp meeting.  There have been representatives here from our 6 Korean churches as well as 3 American churches (including Seattle) and one Japanese church, so it is truly an international Camp-meeting this year.   The weather in Southeast Asia has been extremely hot and humid (over 90 degrees every day with humidity over 65%) but that has not dampened the excitement and hunger for the Lord in the camp meeting.  There have been several testimonies thanking God for air conditioning  though:)

The short 4 day camp meeting has featured beautiful music, stirring messages, and sweet and powerful prayer meetings.  We were thrilled to be joined by the Park/Koo family for the last couple days of the camp and the saints have joyfully welcomed them "home".   Topics for the two Bible Teachings during camp were "Obedience/Surrender" and "Honoring God" while sermon topics included "Loving rather than Condemning", "The Value of Trials", and "Choose the Way of Victory". Three new converts were baptized in water yesterday with much joy for them and all the saints.  We were also privileged to ordain a new pastor for our Daejeon congregation, Sis. Shin Soon Im who has been a faithful assisting minister in both Daejeon and Seoul for over 10 years.  Pray for her and that congregation .  With the Lord's help we hope to speak this morning on "The Crossroads" with a text from Jeremiah about "the old paths".   Please continue to pray for the work of the Lord in South Korea.

Last weekend we have a blessed time with the saints in Kawasaki, Japan and rejoiced that there were two new young couples in church.  Please continue to pray for these precious saints as well.

Lori and plan to return home by Tuesday and will be happy to see you all again next Sunday, Lord willing.  We have heard good reports from Youth Camp and will be thrilled to hear how the Lord continues to work in the hearts of our young people.

God bless you all and thank you for your prayers.
