Uplook - September 13, 2025
It's a Sunny Seattle Saturday...
And we are thankful for such blessings after a week with what seemed to be an extra dose of bad news in our world. 2 Timothy 3:13 reminds us that "...Evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived." and of that we are quite aware but it is interesting to me that the verses on each side of this one point out a couple of other issues of which we must also be aware. Verse 12 reminds us that "all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution" and verse 14 encourages us to "continue thou in the things which that has learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them".
Paul goes on to remind Timothy (and us) that what we have learned from the scriptures brings assurance and wisdom and salvation. I believe these days we are all challenged to "continue in what we have learned" especially from the scriptures directly but also from those who we have loved and trusted knowing they have either received their reward in heaven already or are pressing in hard to receive it.
God bless you all as we continue to bring the salt and light of the Gospel of Jesus to the world and culture around about us. May we not be weary with well doing...for in due season we will reap if we don't faint.
Housekeeping notes:
Choir Practice - The first choir practice of the year will be tomorrow at 3:30 PM. Sis. Tricia will share the plans for the upcoming Christmas time as well as other musical plans for the fall. Soup and Study - This Wednesday marks the first Soup/Study after camp meeting. Please plan to come a little early (6:45 pm) and enjoy some delicious soup and also feast on God's Word with us.
Chehalis Special Meetings - Please see the flier in the Narthex for these meetings to be held September 19-21. We will be cancelling Sunday evening service on that weekend to allow folks to attend.
God bless.
